Ans) A global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.

Q.2) what is world wide web?

Ans)the world-wide-web a set of programs standard and protocol that allows the multimedia and hyper text file to be created displayed and linked on the internet.

Q.3) Define these  things?

Ans)1.Any computer on the network that requests services from another computer on internet.

2.Any computer that receives request from client computer processes and send the output.

3. Any digital page/document hosted on internet.

4. A collection of interconnected webpages designed with certain goal in mind.

5. A website that offers a array of resources such as email,farmer,search engine among other .eg:- Yahoo and MSN etc.

Q.6) what is URL?

Ans) URL is a (uniform resource locator) it is unique address of a webpage on internet.

Q.7) Component of website?

And) They are six types of component of website.

1.web host:on a web server some where are a set of files that are transmitted to user computer when they specify the address of the website.

2. Web address: this is the unique address assigned to each unique website .

3.Home page:it is the first web page that appears when viewer visit a website.

4.Design:it means the overall look and proper integration of element like navigation bar graphics layout etc. 

5.Content: the information added by the developer of website.

6.Navigation structure:the navigation structure of a website is order of the page, the collection of what link to what. Usually it held together by at least of one navigation menu.

Q.8) Differentiate between web portal and website?

Ans) Web portal

★ Collection of launch web pages of array off Web services like email,search engine, weather, gaming ,news etc.
★ It is normally an entry point for gateway for using the offered web-services.
★ Generally linked to many other websites that provide these Web-services.
★ example:Google,yahoo  and MSN.

Website

★ A website is generally link to it own web pages.
★ It is after the final destination to access and use the provided specific information .
★ collection of web pages offering a specialized content pertaining to the need and goal of the organization owning the website .
★ example:ncert.nic.in and edupillar.com etc.
